The Unlikely Angel of Casco Bay receives high marks from Writers Digest judges

On the heels of winning the International Impact Book Award for family and domestic drama, I entered my debut novel, The Unlikely Angel of Casco Bay, in a Writers Digest Self-published fiction contest on May 05, 2025. They notified me in October that I hadn’t won the contest, but thanked me for my participation. Today, I received the official feedback, the one that requires a secure login to see, but here are just a few of the compliments they levied upon me.

I’m still feeling the buzz of excitement from their unexpected, stellar review of my book. Here is an extremely condensed version:

“No improvements required anywhere. Masterful storytelling. Milne was genius.”

Writer’s Digest Contest Judge

“Exemplary in structure, pacing, voice, and character development.”

Writer’s Digest Contest Feedback
