After considerable thought, I decided to publish a second edition of The Unlikely Angel of Casco Bay. Although I received considerable positive feedback about the original cover, mainly for the mysterious, even ominous feeling it seemed to exude, this cover does the same, but in a brighter way and illustrates the hope aspect of the story as well as other key elements.
As you can see, my Author picture was also updated. The original, first edition, has a picture on the back that was eleven years old, but the only decent, semi-formal picture I had when I published the book on March 1, 2025. I wore glasses then, but wasn’t for that particular picture, which was taken on the Seine river in France at sunset.
If you prefer the original, then you’re in luck! That version will continue to be available. It’s your choice. You’ll find both versions and other options on my purchase page. By using a separate ISBN for the new cover version, I can maintain the original cover version with another distributor, making both available without confusing anyone.
I hope you like the new cover, I sure do. Yes, it was AI generated using my descriptive coaching. I had it generate the background colors only for the back cover, then composed the description and my bio, and took the picture, the design elements, as well as the spine, then put them all together using the Canva software online using a template generated by ChatGPT/Open AI to ensure my sizing would be correct. Then uploaded it to KDP at Amazon and went from there with the viewing and checking before approval.
Thank you for your interest and patronage!

Great new cover. Must feel good to be able to personally make a new one. Impressive!
I hope sales are good. I enjoyed Ben’s story very much.
Looking forward to your next book.
It’s empowering for sure, my first cover was all self-done too, using one of my photos, etc. AI takes drawing to another level, though.
