A special day for any author—my first proof copy of Hampton Roads Gold arrived this afternoon!
There’s something uniquely rewarding about holding a book in your hands after months of writing, editing, revising, and designing. One final review, a few last tweaks if needed, and it’ll be ready for its September release.
It’s exciting to see this story finally come to life. I can’t wait to share it with all of you!
I decided to tryout the Ground-wood paper option. It’s new and supposedly more eco-friendly, and lowered my print cost a little. I’m glad I did. It’s supple, has a nice feel, and is a light cream tone. I’m also glad I used a larger, 12.5 point Palatino font, along with a 1.2 line spacing. It looks elegant, is highly readable, and lets your eyes relax quite a bit under different types of light.
Does it raise the page count a bit and cost me more? Yes, but my readers deserve the best.
The novel officially debut’s September 15, 2026, but (and you didn’t hear this from me) you can get it now in Hardcover at Amazon.com. Oops, I wasn’t supposed to let that out . . . Oh well. Too late.
